The German Electrical and Electronic Industry Association stated on June 10 that in view of the recent high-speed double-digit growth in the electrical and electronic industry in Germany, it is expected that production will increase by 8% this year.

The association issued a press statement that day, stating that the electrical and electronic industry is stable, but there are risks. The biggest challenge at present is the shortage of materials and delays in supply.

According to data released by the association, compared with the same period last year, new orders in the electrical and electronic industry in Germany increased by 57% in April this year. Also production output increased by 27% and sales increased by 29%. From January to April this year, new orders in the industry increased by 24% year-on-year, and output increased by 8% year-on-year. Total revenue was 63.9 billion Euros ---an increase of nearly 9% year-on-year.

Max Milbrecht, an expert at the German Federal Agency for Foreign Trade and Investment, said that the rapid growth in the output of the electrical and electronic industry in Germany had benefited from strong exports and huge domestic demand in Germany. In the automotive and industrial electrical fields, Germany is an extremely attractive market.

It is worth noting that China is the only country that has seen a significant increase in exports from Germany in this field . According to data from the Germany's Electrical Industry (ZVEI), China was the largest export target country for German electrical products last year with an increase of 6.5% to 23.3 billion Euros -- even exceeding the growth rate before the epidemic (the growth rate was 4.3% in 2019 ). China is also the country where Germany imports most in the electrical industry. Germany imported 54.9 billion Euros from China last year with a year-on-year increase of 5.8%.
